Mystical poem written 5-13-25. Hymn To Aphrodite 6.

1. I’m waking up, Mother, Nah, I’m just fooling, Still tilting at windmills, And blowing those dandelions away I found a secret key once, In a little shop in Santa Cruz, I never found the door, But the idea possessed me My second true love wore it, As an amulet against the banal, A tiny gossamer strand, Connecting her to her dreams I couldn’t bear to tell her, That the world and I, Were going to tear that key, Right off her neck 2. I couldn’t find my way home, So I made a new one, But it was ages, Before I found You I walked in a stupor, Spun around blindly, Changed direction, A thousand thousand times I twisted and fought, Like a fly on a string, I fled from Your grip, Like a rolling coin Daughter of Sky and Sea, You are Blessed and Heavenly, And always ready, To get Your hands dirty 3. So here we are together, Sitting in eternity, What shall we do, my Beloved? How shall we pass the time? It’s almost like it was You, Singing that strange harmony, Of changing voices, That I heard so long ago It’s almost like it was You, That picked me out, Before I had, Ever heard Your name But that’s madness, Or at least that’s what I tell myself, When I can’t sleep at night, And start questioning everything
