Poem written February 16, 2026.

I can’t bear, The way you look at me, That glance that meets mine, With the gaze of a basilisk Beaming into me, Demanding unknown things, Asking unknown questions, Telling unknown stories I want to answer you, But I cannot open my mouth, Snakes and spiders, And dead things live there I groan and turn away, But your eyes always follow, Endless eyes, infinite eyes, Staring at my secrets I can’t bear, The way you look at me, But in the end, I will always, Meet your gaze
