So I was dreamer, Or so I thought, Stumbling and bleeding, From one accident to the next Living for one, Great grand passion, After another, and another, And another, and then… As each one crashed, And fell to the ground, Blinking and dazed, I would rise to my feet Endlessly reliving, The primal betrayal, The endless hunger, For someone to love me To stay by my side, Not throw me away, To hold my hand, While we walk Oh, Mother, What have you done? I put my hand into my wound, And find only dead flowers But these seeds, As they blow forth, May yet give birth, To something new So I was a dreamer, Or so I thought, Stumbling and bleeding, From one accident to the next
