Poem written 1-6-24
Look away from me, my love,
I am bare and taken away from myself,
The tempered arms of a colossal one,
Wrapped warm across my throat
Wend away from me, oh serpent,
Spare me your divine condescensions,
I am heartbroken and swept away,
Lost on a phantom island in an imagined sea
Fly away from me, windswept dove,
Find a new and timely home,
Beyond cares and dreams,
Your spirit shining bright in violet skies
Find me a home, oh gentle one,
Each night I walk endless streets,
Trying to find a place to be,
Before I wake up and start all over
These endless expressions of lack,
Of a person left behind,
Arms wrapped around someone,
Who was never there
