Mystical poem written 3-31-25. Hymn To The Divine 15.

1. I see You there, Smiling, You’re always smiling, Forever singing a song You want for me, Will for me, Laugh for me, Sigh for me Always revealing, Never unveiled, Always shedding that Fire, That warms without burning You are Thou to my I, But I always wonder, If this time will be the last, If I will fade from You 2. I know the weight, That peculiar burden, Of seeking and serving, The Good and the True The winding Water of You, Where I am drowning, Swallowing mouthfuls, Even as my belly bursts That first night staring out, At an infinite sweep of twinkling, Awash in wonder and sudden faith, All at once awake, open, and aware Weeping and gnashing my teeth, Agonized at the sudden revelation, Of who I really am, And what I am here to do 3. Nothing special, Living quietly in love, Cherishing the little things, Perhaps some fun and games A tiny life where I serve, To point my tiny finger, At You and Your living breath, That Air that exhales being My little routines, Rising up in prayer and fasting, In an attempt to become, Alike unto You I scribble my little thoughts, All in a fool’s attempt, To mimic that Word, That birthed the world 4. Alas, the Earth is aching, I ache with Her, As my beloved weeps and burns, I strain against my bonds This eternal gravity, That pulls me ever towards You, This falling forever, Into the star that I am I can’t begin to tell You, All the things I have to say, All the things that You have shown me, My terror and my joy But as for me, I am left staring out the window, Wondering at the mud, On everybody’s shoes
Art: Giorgio Barbarelli da Castelfranco AKA Giorgione, “The Tempest”, (1506-1508)

the Earth is aching,
I ache with Her,
As my beloved weeps and burns,
I strain against my bonds
This eternal gravity,
That pulls me ever towards You,
This falling forever,
Into the star that I am
So resonated with this part!
I’m so glad!
