A poem written for my wife, Alexandra Spurlock, on the occasion of her birthday.

1. I remember each moment, The first time we kissed, The first time I saw you, And heard your voice I remember the first time, I dreamt of your face, The first time I answered, A call from your phone I remember the first birthday, I woke up next to you, The first magick we did, The first movie we watched 2. Shared pains and joys poignant, Transforming and becoming, Always closer, yet somehow, Always more ourselves Laughter widening your smile, As your eyes crinkle at the edges, Giggles making my sides ache, As we chatter in the night The lamp shining against the window, Shows your face in stark relief, Shadows and creases expand, As sleep comes to capture me 3. Each time I reach inside, To pull out these treasures, My heart grows warmer, And I become something more Ever inspired to greater heights, To a deeper love that cradles you, Dear and close, the core of my soul, Expanding to dance with you This Great Work we do together, Of loving out our life each day, Treasuring that miracle of you, While holding your hand
