Mystical poem written 10-7-25. Hymn To Demeter 1.

1. What have You done to me? Setup to succeed, In all the most painful, And horrifying ways I just wanted to be good, You Monster, You Horror, You Almighty and Divine I just wanted a family, To stop being hit, And to find myself, In the faces around me Instead I have been duped, Turned into a weapon, Prepared, sharpened, And aimed at the future 2. Mighty Mother, Turning twister of the seasons, I turned to You in my weakness, And found a terrible strength As war without end, Works its way into the world, Sweeping and terrifying, All I can hear is You But I wanted love, damn You, I wanted to be soft, I wanted to be held, And for the pain to end I wanted love, And I begged for love, But You are my Mother, And I will obey 3. Terrified and terrifying, I sweep my ashes up, For I want to be ready, When next I must burn I want to face towards, The world around me, And carry my burdens, With an ounce of grace But I moan as I march, Towards my horizon, Like that poor mermaid, I walk on many blades I have been cursed, Driven out into the cold, To follow my orders, And finish my mission

It’s so rare to encounter anyone else who has witnessed the awesome, terrible power of Demeter.
And even my decades-long devotion to Her hasn’t plumbed these depths.
Holding you in my heart, and praying you also get to experience the glory of the Golden Mother.
Thank you for your insights, Suz.
We have a very intense relationship, She and I. And She is driving me hard right now. She wants me safe, and that is hard to accomplish. So I have to find relief for the tension in poetry.
Thank you for reading. May the blessings of the Great Mother be yours in the coming Autumn.
