Poem written 8-12-24.

1. You were the only one, Who could make me laugh, Breathless, I would wait for hours, For the smallest chance to see you The mother that forgot me, You shine like an exploding star, Through the noise in my mind, Haunting me like an old house Those tired voices in my heart, That whisper every moment, That everyone will go away, Speak with your voice 2. And now you’ve found forgiveness, With your child’s idea of grace, You’ve found your love at last, And gained the strength to sleep You’ve cast your demons out, And risen shriven from the past, A fallen star floating aloft, On wings of new respectability But I know you, Mother dear, And I know your fallow heart, The love you collect falls barren, Like tender seeds on dry stone
